Much of the border between the United States and Mexico has been closed off with walls, concrete barricades, and fences since 2006. This way presidents Clinton and Bush wanted to stop drug smuggling and immigration from Mexico to America. The wall is 1050 kilometers long in total and runs along California, Arizona and New Mexico. The rest of the border is formed by the Rio Grande River.
